HAIR CARE GUIDE

When it comes to real virgin hair you should take care of it as if it was your own and consider it an investment. The better you care for it, the longer it will last.

BRUSHING

The use of a soft bristle brush or looper brush is recommended. Make sure to detangle gently as if they were your own hair because pulling can cause breakage. Work your way from the bottom to the top.

WASHING/CO-WASHING

We can’t stress enough how important this is. Your hair needs moisturizing and be free of any build-up.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD YOU WASH YOUR HAIR

We recommend Co-washing your hair at least once a week.
However everyone style/wear they hair differently so it is hard to put a number of days. Our best advice is to listen to your hair! they will tell you when it’s time.
Here are a few signs that indicates it’s time to wash!
– it feels/looks greasy
– it ‘s harder to style
– you see residues
– it smells (please never let it go that far ladies!)
– you don’t remember the last time you washed them

HOW TO WASH YOUR HAIR

The First step is to detangle your hair.
Using a good sulfate-free shampoo/moisturizing conditioner, gently shampoo and/or conditioner hair.

Make sure to evenly distribute with a tooth comb or fingers making your way from ends to roots in downward motion.

Rince with lukewarm water, take your time… and voila!

Tip: Organic products are the best as they prevent chemicals addition that would damage the cuticles of your hair. Sulfate can also causes split ends or dryness.

Tip: While the hair is still wet add a few drops/spray of an organic oil (coconut, organ, almond, etc..).that will penetrate the cuticle and moisture the hair.

SWIMMING/ VACATIONS:

For Healthy hair after a beach or pool session, protect it before swimming by adding a slick coat of coconut oil, braiding your hair and/or put in a ponytail.
This trick would reduce the impact of salt and chlorine water. Rince immediately after because salt of chemicals sitting on your locks all day would cause a hair disaster.

STYLING

Air-dry and flexi-rods to dry or curl you hair are the best recommended methods however heating tools such as hair dryer, flat irons, curling irons are also okay to use as long as it’s with moderation. Make sure to use a good heat protectant.
Tip: Avoid using too many hair products as this will cause a build-up and weighting down the hair.

Tip: Have the hair installed by a professional. When wefts are not cut properly this will cause shedding. The use of a weft sealant will also prevent shedding.

SLEEPING

Prior to bed detangle hair and pull it back in a soft ponytail/braids and use a scarf or a silk bonnet to reduce the stress on your hair to prevent tangling during your sleep.

Tip: Never go to bed with wet hair as this would cause tangling.
